In this short and pithy collection of essays from the WEB lectures, this is a brilliant synthesis of Mamdani's thesis around the question of citizenship, subject and identity which he first really developed in Citizen and Subject (actually, the ideas were first begun to be expressed in From Citizen to Refugee), and which he subsequently evolved in 'When Victims Become Killers', 'Good Muslim, Bad Muslim', 'Saviors and Survivors'. In this book Mamdani's ideas are developed further still. A really terrific book.
