A new angle on brain munchers,
This review is from: Feed: The Newsflesh Trilogy: Book 1 (Newsflesh Series) (Paperback)
Feed is something different that you want to get through fast so you can start the next one but you hate it when it's done. Three bloggers are caught up in a US election race a few years after The Rising, the cataclysmic event where the cure for cancer and the common cold reanimated the dead. I won't give any of the plot away but will say it's a tight, taut and thrilling read and if you like apocalypse novels, this will definitely float your boat. If you don't, you'll still enjoy the ride. It's different enough to offer something new and Mira Grant has taken the big event and made it something huge. It isn't just the usual search, run and chomp pulp fiction that has flooded the market. There is a lot more to it and more depth. The measures they take to remain safe seem extreme until you realise that the virus had made every walking moment a scary one. For many in the situation she writes about, many would envy the properly dead!
Get this and the other 2 novels in the Newsflesh trilogy and you'll enjoy and not regret any of it. A great series and a worthy edition to the horror genre without being merely a horror novel. Great stuff!
