It really works, honest :-),
This review is from: Philips HR1858/91 Juicer - 650W, 2 litre (Kitchen & Home)
I bought this juicer recently having seen it advertised & read all the reviews.
Even though I wanted a juicer I was a bit sceptical as my previous one was such a pain to assemble & clean and you needed to virtually dice the fruit or veg to get it through the chute!! Not so with this lovely little machine, it will juice just about everything (except bananas & avocados - but who would want to lol) Bung everything down the wide chute & out pours loads (& I mean loads) of fresh juice. Clean up after is a breeze & although it's dishwasher safe I can't see why you'd want to, a quick rinse under the tap & it's ready to go again.
Sorry if I sound a bit evangelical but it really is great!!!
Some tips to make life easier & your juice taste better:
* Put a plastic bag in the pulp bin - no need to wash it up after a juicing session :-)
* Take the outside skin off citrus fruit, melon & pineapple it won't kill you but can make the juice taste bitter(leave on the white pith of citrus it's full of good stuff apparently)
* Don't use Granny Smiths apples they don't give out much juice & taste a bit bland - if you add a small wedge of lemon to apple juice it tastes amazing!
* Take the sticky labels off fruit before you juice - yes I almost had a oops moment & had to fish an apple out of the chute before I juiced the label lol
Hope this helps, Happy Juicing :-)

I wanted to check whether, 8 months down the line you're still using your juicer and whether it's still in full working order? Also, you didn't mentione anything on the pulp, does it come out completely dry? Thanks

I too am looking for comments on the pulp. Is it completely dry like the HR 1860 Series?

Hi, I ended up buying this Juicer in April 2011, it's very, very good No complaints and I bought one for my folks too they love it. The pulp comes out very dry compared to other juicers i've used. If you put in cucmber or pineapple, you'll find the pulp a littloe moist overall but thta's to be expected. With carrots, apples etc you'll see its very dry with little moisture.
