Not Sure about this one !,
This review is from: In Rainbows (Audio CD)
Ok, had a couple of listens, it's undoubtedly well produced thanks to Nigel Godrich, but I am still drawn back to Hail to the Thief everytime, it's said Hail to The thief is unconsistent and doesn't flow, I actually like that, its more interesting. This album feels heartless and verging on boring at times with the songwriting seeming more reliant on production. On some tracks the vocals are mixed so low the song is lost and radiohead sound tentative.
I may well change my views in time, but Hail to the Thief blew me away from the first listen and still does.
Still a great band, be interesting to see where they can go from here.
I think back to rawness, no strings, no big production gloss, just simple big sounding raw guitars and rhythmic drumming and the vocal right in your face and lots of attitude, maybe a bit of Can's Tago Mago attitude !
But who am I to comment.
good luck guys !
