The Morse books and the stories themselves are well enough known through their publication and television dramatisation. Hearing the stories read by a single person is an often odd take on what you already know. The story is simple Dexter, a who dunnit with a not too well hidden solution and the characterisation is as rich as you would expect. Unfortunately with the over exposure in every other media of the Dexter books it's unfulfilling and somewhat one-dimensional to hear them in this manner. It's good if you can't get to sleep at night, but don't forego the book or the TV version in favour of this.
