This review is from: Microsoft Autoroute Express 2000 Europe (CD-ROM)This is way out of date but it does work. I recently plotted a route round Eng and Wales for a friend of mine who was surveying surviving elm trees - dozens of them all over the place in ones and twos - for the Nat. History Mus. The position plotting is awful: positions were way out, some by miles but using multimaps.com and streetmap.co.uk and transfering positions to A/Route worked. The route finding then did its stuff perfectly satisfactorily.
The predicted time on the road is pretty accurate. I just drove from Bristol to a village north of Stoke on Trent today and arrived just when A/Route said I would. The discrepency after 10 hrs driving from Calais to Fumel in Lot et Garonne was only 20 mins and that was probably me and pits stops rather than the prog.
Obviously one would look to get an more up to date version but I read of extraordinary and unacceptable failings and even deteriorations in more recent editions, so will wait for one that generates a reasonable level of approval before upgrading.
