Shaves your body and doesn't cut you to ribbons,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Panasonic ER-GK40 Silver Body Shaver (Personal Care)
This shaver's build quality is excellent for the price, and so too is the build quality of the weighty, stable charging stand that comes with it. The shaver's head is much more angled than Panasonic's promo photos show, rendering the shaver easy to use whichever way round you hold it. It can be used wet or dry, the slide-open hatch on its top making it quick and effortless to clean by running water through it. The extendible trimmer cuts longer hairs, while the foil shaves shorter hairs more closely.
Panasonic's blurb states that the shaver is "perfect for younger individuals who have had less experience with electric shaving but want to avoid the skin cuts associated with traditional shaving", and I have found this to be the case (though I'm not the kind of inexperienced youth Panasonic is talking about). This is the first body shaver I've ever used that hasn't cut me to ribbons the first time I try it. That's not to say it doesn't cut hairs; it just doesn't do it so zealously that you end up covered in cuts to your skin. The only price you pay is that often you need to make a few passes before you're totally smooth, but I'd rather have that than the alternative: blood, pain and plasters.
Panasonic has quietly come up with an excellent, inexpensive shaving product with the ER-GK40 Milano Body Shaver. The only thing that's really missing from it is a case, but there's no way that omission can turn it into anything less than a 5-star item in my opinion.
