Not for the New Knitter,
This review is from: Knitter's Handy Book Of Sweater Pattern: Basic Designs in Multiple Sizes and Gauges (Spiral-bound)
I bought this book because I wanted to get back into knitting after a long absence. If you are new to knitting this is not the book for you. I was disappointed as the patterns are very old fashioned and trying to understand the gauge's was difficult at first so takes a while before you can knit your first item. However if you are a good knitter you can adapt the designs to create many unique items in differnt stitches and wools.

I think it's a bit confusing when you first get started - figuring out the gauge and understanding how to follow the charts. I'm a relatively new knitter, myself, and this book intimidated me. I owned it for several months before getting up the nerve to try it, but I think anybody who has followed a simple pattern for a sweater will be OK once they go ahead and give it a try.
