Not what I expected,

This review is from: Pet Heaven: The Animal Accessory Bible (Paperback)
From the other reviews I expected something a bit special but I wish that I hadn't bothered with this book. When following someone else's pattern it is nice to have a good picture to follow to help you to decide if it's what you want to knit more than anything else. This book has loads of pictures, large, clear, colourful and more of the animals than the garments. There is a cat cushion photographed partially 3 times, I didn't even realise it was included until I found the chart in the back of the book. On the page where it's pattern instructions appear it is a distant haze of colour behind the picture of the cat. A dog coat only photographed from the dog's head nothing to show how it fits over the rear. There is a whole chapter on Eco dog coats that looked interesting but the designs are not to knit, they are shop bought cardigans with bits cut off. Instructions how to make a pom pom, wire mesh bird feeder and a plastic knitted water lily were not for me. There are 2 dog jumpers, one very simple dog coat, a floral dog coat that features on the cover, a curtain for your rabbit and cover throw for your bird, some simple cushions and a cat mat shaped like a mouse. The hamster house is strangely cute but will be chewed up and there some knitted toys - a weird small dog with huge sausage legs, an OK tortoise and ferret and some strange guinea pigs. Seems to me that they struggled to think of enough to include and padded it out with large photos that show mostly the animals.
