This review is from: Vax C89-P6-B Power 6 Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen & Home)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
For the money this isn't a bad vacuum. It does its job, the suction levels are consistent throughout usage as is the pickup. It also has a number of features that were originally found on high end vacuums; i.e. HEPA filters, cyclonic suction. Build quality is where for me this vacuum looses stars; dodgy retraction on the power cable, the hose feels cheap and the fit on some of the tools is so-so; but then this is a low price vacuum compared to its more expensive cousins in the vax range and economies have to be made somewhere to get the price down.
Build quality aside, this vacuum works and works well, and at the end of the day that's what you want a vacuum to do. Its light, manoeuvrable and easy to clean and keep clean. Vax also provide good warranties on their products so if it does go wrong they'll repair/replace; I've experience of this with an upright we own and the repair turnover was quick and free from hassle, although probably not what you want to hear when buying a vacuum it's nice to know it's there if you need it.

@ John, -: why not 4 (or) 5 star's for such a decent review Sir.?? I would have to award this (5 Stars) considering the "Hepa filtration and cyclonic suction". and I don't even own it.. (lol) However, its now in my basket, will be with me very soon...
not to mention the superb backup, (replacement or repair, Warranty)... that comes with a VAX.
Thanks for an honest review... not a big VAX sales pitch, unlike some other 5 star reviews.. (Kudos!)

Thanks for posting a reply. It's good when you get feedback from people. I did consider giving this a higher rating. To be honest from a value for money point of view it's probably worth a 4 - 4.5 star rating. Mines still going, still working really well and giving absolutely no problems. At the time I just thought there were issues over build quality that slightly let it down, not that it wasn't robust or worth the money or bad at it's job but compared to its more expensive Vax cousins definately felt cheaper. However, like I say, compared to some vacuums that I've had (and for some reason we go through vacuums in my house like anything, probably all the cat hairs!) this has certainly outlasted them and works consistently well. My upright Vax has been back to Vax twice in three years and still doesn't feel like it's working properly and it cost 3x what this one is currently going for on Amazon. Hope you get as much wear out of yours. Thanks again for posting a comment.

Looking for a replacement for my small Hoover, which for some reason sucks all the dust
into the motor filter instead of the box all other filters are clear. This Vax sounds good.

It is a good vac. It does exactly what it says on the tin and my experience of dealing with Vax customer service with an upright we have is good, they were extremely helpful in sorting out the problem we had with it. For not a lot of money you get a Vac that in my experience works pretty well at its main job, I'm certainly not disappointed with it's performance in hoovering stuff up.
