This review is from: Omron R7 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (Personal Care)
Several reviewers draw attention to the fact that to download the readings to your PC, you are forced to buy a proprietary USB cable, and it took me some time to find a supplier. The total cost incl. postage + VAT was £26.19 - which is rather a lot extra to pay for a cable connector. The included instruction manual does not cover the process of downloading the collected data to your PC. You have to go to the manufacturer's website and download their software. Very simple, but why no instructions about this procedure in the manual?
The Omron R7 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is very easy to use (much less hassle than an upper-arm version) which was an important consideration and has proved reliable to date (two weeks use). The unit allows morning, daytime and evening readings per day, and a max. of 90 readings. The ability to review the collected data in a variety of ways is useful and the graphical presentation helps. It is compact and comes in a robust plastic box, so taking it on your travels presents no problems.
If the USB cable had been included, sensibly priced, or non-proprietary then I would definitely have given the Omron R7 - 5 stars.
