Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm quite sure there's loads of stuff you can do with this that's beyond my very limited skill. All I want to be able to do is save a few of my most often used and altered files (Excel and Word primarily) as added security in case the laptop ever dies unexpectedly. And this works perfectly for that.
On arrival, it comes sealed in the kind of plastic package that requires a knife to open - automatic one-star deduction. There are no instructions in the packet - just a warranty (in such small print you'd need a magnifying glass or a seven-year-old to read it). I see another reviewer has said there are instructions on the drive itself - not on mine, or at least if there are I have no idea how to access them.
However, when you stick it in the USB slot, it automatically downloads its own drivers and then opens the installation screen. Bung in language, name and password, accept the agreement (which as far as I can see negates the warranty on the package and denies all responsibility for anything whatsoever that might go wrong - very reassuring!) and it's ready to go. Drag and drop to get files onto it - certainly for my simple purposes there are no speed issues. And files open up from it as quickly as from the laptop itself. Each time I put it in the USB slot it automatically opens with no problems and goes straight to the enter password screen. So as far as I'm concerned, it works perfectly.
So recommended for simple tasks - if you are looking to do anything more complex, I recommend you read some of the reviews from people with more technical knowledge than I have.
