This review is from: Under the Eagle (Eagles of the Empire 1) (Paperback)
I have just finished Under the Eagle and it was a great read - The charactors of Marco and Cato (the two main charactors) really start to gel towards the end and I think there is a lot of future interaction available for the two. I for one am looking forward to finding out how they get on in Britain after invading. Basically the book starts with Cato, a young slave who has been freed on the premise that he must join the army. Despite his mastors wishes that he be made a Centurion he starts as an Optio (Still a good rank) and needs to make an impression from there. From this point the book is a great rollercoaster of battles and general skullduggery. I highly enjoyed it and I have seen that the rest of the series is available on the Kindle format so I think I will download the next book in the series and continue the adventure! Very highly recommended if, like me, you enjoy historical novels like Sharpe, Aubrey (Master and Commander) and the like.
