Superficial and poorly written: a rip-off for the vulnerable,

This review is from: Natural Solutions To Infertility: How to increase your chances of conceiving and preventing miscarriage (Paperback)I was deeply disappointed in this book. I bought it based on the reviews I'd read here, and read it as soon as it arrived. It told me nothing I didn't already know from other reading and basic internet research, and while it promised a "detailed four month plan to improve your health before conception" that detailed plan was written on less than one page (!) and simply suggested taking supplements (detailed elsewhere in the book) and not eating non-organic food - something that is extensively and more effectively written about elsewhere. The book contains very little about how to use exercise and mediation to deal with the stress of trying to conceive, is very unclear on explanations of possible problems you may be experiencing, and provides extremely superficial content on chinese herbs which would have been better left out entirely as if anyone tried to self-medicate based on the information provided here they could get themselves into serious trouble.
I would strongly recommend that you buy an alternative. A combination of "taking control of your fertility" by Toni Wechsler and "fertility and conception" by Zita West would do the job of this book much more effectively. If you want to deal specifically with issues when you cannot conceive (which both these do touch on), then you might want to add "the infertility cure" which talks about chinese medicine, and/or a book on meditation such as those by Alice Domar and/or "yoga for fertility". This will provide a much more helpful, less patronising selection for your bookshelf.
