This review is from: Complete Bible Box Set (DVD)
If like me you find it hard to read lots of the OT stories because of unusual names, you could do a lot worse than these DVDs to bring those characters and their stories to life. Found Genesis hard going. Have nowhere near finished yet but so far have particularly enjoyed Moses and (OT)Joseph. UPDATE: Having now watched more dvds from this set - I am discovering that in some of the films "poetic licence" is replaced by PURE FICTION!!! Take for example the entire (NT)Joseph and Mary films - there simply isn't anywhere near enough information in the bible to create these. I can't say whether there is information outside of the bible to base these on, but one would not expect to include stories from outside of the Bible, right? You need to know God's Word well otherwise you could be fooled into thinking some of this is fact. Still an enjoyable set BUT Please do not watch this instead of reading your Bible, or take as fact anything you see without double checking the Holy Bible.

Instead of making rather crass statements like that, you might like to do some reading of respected, unbiased, historical works. This is not the place to enter a protracted discussion on the Bible as a set of collected literary works, because the thread concerns the review of a filmed version of some of the stories, but what you have to appreciate, like it or not, that the Bible is a collection of faith stories within historical contexts. The word 'fact' is often a relative term.

John. please do not make statements like that. I and millions of other Christians world wide know the Bible it to fact and Gods Word.
