1.0 out of 5 stars An irritating read, 11 Mar 2013

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Hellion and The Heartbreaker (Kindle Edition)
Do not waste your time! I bought this book because a reviewer implied that the author had the same writing style as judith mcnaught (one of my all time favorite authors). After reading this book I must say that to liken these two authors is a gross insult to Ms Mcnaught.
I am not a fan of underage sex, so I was quite disgusted to have Scarlett have relations with the Alec (who was well into his twenties and should know better) at the age of 16!!!. It was also unbelievable that Alec would have so little honor that he would carry on with her behind her brothers/guardians back and still claim her brothers as close friend. It also makes her brothers look like total idiots.
This book had none of the elements that made authors like judith mcnaught, Julie garwood and johanna Lindsey such great authors and should be avoided by all costs. I just wish I could get a refund.

Wow, you sound like a rather mean-spirited individual! Personally, I think this sounds like a good book and one I look forward to reading.

FYI - I think the age of consent in the 19th century was around 13. I believe it was raised to 16 near the beginning of the 20th century. We are talking about a time when women were often considered old maids if they weren't married by the age of 20, so your "disgust" seems a bit over the top. I hate reviews like this!

Well, SO DO YOU!! Reviews are not the place for personal attacks, whatever your view of the reading material.

OMG! Get a life - this is only fiction not real!!!!

It is an accurate account of the times
A story enjoyable - not a sermon!
