Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm a long-time Kindle user, having a Kindle since they first came available to UK customers via the US store. I've been through different devices and different types of cases. I'm now on the first generation Paperwhite and it's an awesome device. What makes it even more awesome is how to works with the Amazon case - it fits like a glove and also auto-wakes/sleeps the device. Therefore this case has a very hard act to follow, especially as it is at the same price-point, and at the time of writing, it is more expensive.
I'm afraid that it doesn't cut it for me. If you are looking for a different looking case then this surely wins out over the plain Amazon cases. It looks very nice indeed. But the way in which the Kindle is held in the case is via some elastic straps. They hold the device securely, but what a basic solution (compared to the hugging fit that the Amazon case provides). It also does not provide the auto-wake or auto-sleep function so you have to remember to switch it off when putting it away. There is an elastic strap to keep it shut, adding in a magnet (to auto-sleep the device) would have also kept the case shut without needing a strap.
So if you are looking for a specific style, something different and a bit more funky, then this case could be what you are looking for. It looks great and there is a nice logo and label. For me it doesn't have the small but important functions that I'm expecting to see on a case of this pricing.
