Sometimes shocking but brilliant start to the boys...,
This review is from: The Boys: The Name of the Game v. 1 (Paperback)
If this book was a film, it would have a large 18 in a red circle. Thats right, its very explicit. Lots of violence, nudity and bad language. As a result, this is the most mature and realistic take on the concept of superheroes ever done.
If you ever wondered what would happen if a super-powered being one day got bored of only doing good deeds, this should explain that idea. It is about a group of government agents who are charged with taking out superheroes who overstep the line.
The story is interesting in showing what superheroes get up to once the adoring crowds and cameras disperse, and what they do isn't pleasant.
This is a must have story for any serious graphic novel collector who has ever wondered what an obnoxious, hypocritical and selfish 'superhero' would be like.
