This review is from: Molekularbiologie Fur Dummies (Für Dummies) (Paperback)
OK, I realise that this is only of interest to the small constituency of those who are interested in Molecular Biology and want to read the books in German but the reviews in English.
As an excuse, I'm interested in cell biology enough to want to bore my work colleagues with it during lunchtime conversations. Given I work in Germany, and that struggling for a paraphrase doesn't seem to grip their attention as I try to describe immunological reactions, I thought I ought to try to get a handle on the technical vocabulary in their language.
Seriously, the book has been useful - amongst other things, I now realise that the usual German word for protein - Eiweiss, literally egg white - is replaced in scientific literature by the rather more scientific 'das Protein' (though note German pronunciation rules apply if you want to talk about it).
Suffice it to say mission accomplished, and I'm now shunned as a nerd in two languages.
