foo fighters greatest album!,
This review is from: The Colour And The Shape (Audio CD)
foo fighters second album is an album that i will never grow tired off,in some ways this was their last great album, those that followed have their moments but they dont have the hunger that this displayed, their debut is great but this is better, there isnt a bad song on here, the songs range from hard kicking rock songs,to anthemic ballads to electronic tinged songs, its all good here folks, this is a band that were overflowing with ideas and although dave grohl has a big ego,on this he was in top form and had the songs to back up his belief in his band.
the album opens with the melancholy doll which is a sleepy opener, which sends you into a false sense of security before the classic monkey wrench kicks in and what a riff and chorus, that song never sickens me,hey johnny park follows and again is a melodic, sing a long classic,my poor brain follows and is so infectious that even your granny would be hard pressed not to sing along, but folks the good songs keep rolling such as wind up,up in arms,my hero, see you, crikey they are all good,i could just list them all.Walking after you is one of my favourite foo songs of all time, its a perfect ballad with profound lyrics and a cracking middle eight segment, this is an album that needs a nice warm place in your cd player from time to time, could this album be perfect, certainly!
