Good but not great,

If you have ever used any movie creation software this will be familiar. There seems to be standard features across the the usual suspects. So whether you use the free Windows Movie Maker or something like Sony Vegas, this won't be too much of a leap. You get the usual central movie window. To the right you get a series of Tab which, when opened, allow you to add effect, transitions, new clips or sound and other standard movie making things.
To the bottom you have the sound area, this allows you to add tracks, alter the sound of video clips and add effects. This is where you really see a difference between the cheaper and more expensive alternative. How you can manipulate the sound is far more restricted than in say Vegas pro, but far more flexible than the Microsoft freebie.
To be honest, whether to buy this depends upon your skill level and budget, this really is a mid range product which gives you SOME advanced options and is more complicated than the freebie options, but which can still be quite simple to use. Equally it has some advanced features, like multiple movie layers which you get in the more expensive options. All at a reasonable price.
If you want to have a dabble and the freebie doesn't meet your needs this is definitely worth a go at a price well below the £500 you might have to pay for one of the big boys.
