I am pleased with the set but not completey. The audio is variable from episode to episode. Video quality is excellent, no problems at all. Its a bit hammy and as with The Saint, Drake has many fights yet his tie is always straight, his suit always looks new, and he never gets dirty. Backgrounds often look completely fake and car scenes are very obviously made in the studio. The same actors keep popping up in different roles throughout the series, all British and nearly all speaking in strange accents. Warren Mitchell and Mike Pratt play several parts for instance. I suppose I had forgotten just how hammy some 60s series were. The Fugitive by contrast is far superior with much better acting. McGoohan cant be faulted in any way and does a superb job as John Drake. One other thing we found annoying were the abrupt endings to many episodes. Obviously Drake gets away, but how, you dont see it happen. Not always easy to follow late at night after a couple of beers either. Having said that its a lot easier to follow than The Prisoner which takes a lot of following and leaves you the viewer to decide what its all about.
