This review is from: Hungry?: Easy Food for Hungry People (Paperback)
LB is an excellent food writer. her recipes are not fussy at all and they are easy&good.
This book is especially good for beginners - it has useful tips and know/hows... BUT ...: this book had already been published under the name A Wolf in the Kitchen (Easy Food for hungry people as a sub title)(which I had already). I bought it (mea culpa, I didn't pay enough attention to the similar sub title and title) and I was obviously disappointed.
I gave it away.
This Penguin Edition is cheap. Horrible production values.
Having said that, I repeat myself: LB has an easy/playfull/good approach to cooking. Don't expect the attention to details u find/have in Hazan/Child. she has taste though and offers good food.
She wrote very good books on onions, potatoes, soups, fish, all in one pot is another excellent book by her... and she is the co-author of one of the best British cookery books of the last years - Roast Chicken and Other Stories (with S. Hopkinson, super chef and excellent food writer) (buy the book/ it is amazing even if u are a very experienced cook!)
