This review is from: Nur: Solo Piano 1999 (Audio CD)
Pat Thomas seems to spend a lot of his time working with electronics these days. This isn't a bad thing because his work in groups like the co-operative quartet "Lunge" is well worth seeking out (check out the Emanem label). The down side is that it leaves less room for his piano playing. This album (a live recording from '99)features Thomas solo and allows for the full imagination of his impriovsing to shine through.
This album (four tracks totalling over a hour of music) is a good example of the British approach to free jazz piano - a less claustraphobic, spacially aware form than that from the American giants like Cecil Taylor.
