2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money. Good product, great brand., 23 May 2013

This review is from: BENEFIT COSMETICS High Beam luminescent complexion enhancer FULL SIZE 13 ml 0.45 US fl oz BOXED (Misc.)
I actually like this product think it gives a lovely finish to highlight and give a glow. Easy to use, the bottle lasts a long time, nice texture and doesn't give you spots or dry skin. I actually really like benefit as a brand, its quite pricey but most of the time its worth paying extra for the quality, the boing concealer is amazing, I mean amazing I've got all my friends, my mum and my sister into wearing it, its like camouflage it covers everything n has a great texture and finish, I also love the mascara called bad girl, it makes lashes fuller longer and glossy jet black, no clumping!! I think there's some other good mascara out but for me this just has a slightly better finish. But this high beam as much as I like it at £30 plus pounds its really not worth it. I understand some people like to splash for prom, weddings, or just prefer certain brands or price ranges but on this occassion save your money and spend it on something else. I know there are alternative products you might say cheaper versions for 1/10th of the price which are identical. They smell feel and look the same. Please don't waste your money, shop around first, if you want to try this to compare go to a benefit counter for a trail, use a tester or ask for a sample. I promise the cheaper one I use at £3ish is just as good, its identical except the name. I Love benefit, I really like this product but i hate the price! This is a rip off, hope this review helps.

What's the name of the cheaper product you use if you don't mind me asking?

No problem....It is High Lights by technic, it looks the same as the benefit bottle. Its the same layout, same lids, same colours and similar fonts. The only difference appears to be, benefit gives 13ml and Tenic gives 12ml. The tips on the back of the technic bottle are much better and its its a fraction if the price. I buy mine from a cheap shop called Body Care, its like a cheap boots they have them in a few cities. Its honestly just as good, I'm sat with a bottle of benefit high beam and technic high lights in my hand comparing bottles and their contents, I'm so lame! Hope this helps.

Thanks Samantha :)

Yes this is my money saver - I use the Technic one STILL now & have done for a few years. Fab product by Benefit OR Technic but I'd rather spend £2-£3 with technic than about £30 with benefit for what to me is exactly the same product in quality and quantity. My review is from over a year ago and i still use a lot of Benefit items (skincare & makeup) but always opt for the technic highlighter. I use it day to day depending on what I have planned and how I want to wear my makeup, its a great product! Both brands products available here on amazon.co.uk

I adore benefit but technics saves me a fortune! Nice to know you are finding value for money out there too and it works as well for you as it does for me :) appreciate the comment.

I will say just now for anyone who might be interested (Nov/Dec 2014) Benefit have some lovely Christmas sets in which are great value, additionally most of the year they have various mini tester sets are always a good way to try things (the skin care mini tester set at £15 is one I'd recommend) & the advent calendar is fab festive fun if you can still get one at this late date. (not opened mine yet but seen what's inside in the online reviews! Naughty me!)
