Only for die-hard fans,
This review is from: Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Ultimate Review [DVD] (DVD)
The actual documentary on the disc is poor, having seen several like it in the past, featuring no real band interviews, poor quality concert footage and the soundtrack is supplied by a RHCP cover band. Not only that, the documentary is BORING.
The real reason I bought this DVD however, is the Woodstock footage, which is an hour long. The set is interesting and a good chance to see Dave Navarro play with the band, they definitely sound difffetrent live with him and there are plenty of jams to keep musician fans happy.
However, the (audio and video) quality of this footage is poor as has blatantly just been taken from an original TV broadcast. If you were expecting a proper concert DVD you'll be very disappointed. If you were the sort of fan who's fanatical enough to just collect this because it was the Woodstock '94 performance you probably have some form of copy of the show already. If so, don't waste your money on this item.
The performance is also not amazing ('Warped' in particular sounds awful due to Anthony's vocals), but collectors may enjoy this item, so don't be 100% put off by my review.
I thought it was worth picking up as I didn't have the footage already, but would not reccomend it to anyone other than true fans.
