Notes from a frustrated reader,
This review is from: Notes from an Exhibition (Paperback)
When I started this book I thought after a few chapters it would be a five star review and I felt so let down by the end I feel that 3 stars is generous. Beautiful prose, spoilt by little or no plot. The family dynamics are spoiled by the lack of balance afforded to each character and so Morwenna could just as well be discarded. Interest was held by the discoveries into Rachel's past but the poor character development of Morwenna and Petroc were a complete let down. The last chapter added nothing and the book would have been better if it had been left out or inserted earlier in the book. I felt that the author lost interest too by the end.
