Not a One Hit Wonder,
This review is from: Let's Dance: the Monogram Sides (Audio CD)
Chris Montez had all the qualifications to become a member of the One Hit Wonder Club but no such thing took place.
Instead his profile was considerably enlarged when he appeared with the Beatles.
Afetr a 3rd top 100 entry with My baby loves to dance there was a lull which lasted until 2 years after the British Invasion and its where he found himself signed to the A & M label where he crafted a series of MOR items of either songs from the 40s or bossa nova ones.
Call me-a cover version of a Pet Clark hit-was where it started and he made the top 10 with a version of The More I see you
Later in the 70s Lets Dance would score at least twice again on the U K charts but fortuantely he never became too ambitious as to become a singer songwriter or purveyor of World Music
