1.0 out of 5 stars This camera doesn't work, 3 April 2012

This review is from: Chilli Technology Action 3 HD 720P Head Cam - Black (Sports)
This camera appears to only record 20 minutes at a time. I though it may have been a one off so I bought a new SD card and tested that on the camera.Got the same problem as I was always getting CODEC errors when attempting to replay the footage. I asked for a replacement and the replacement didn't work either giving the same codec error. My freind also bought the same camera from amazon and had the same problem.

If you would like to call Chilli Customer support we will sort this issue out for you.

The codec error may be due to the media player you are using.
Please try VLC media player as recommended in the manual.

Hi

I tried the media player as recomended in the manual.

I also called your customer services and only got an answering machine.

I have now returned the camera and am looking for a replacement product to this.

The codec problem was caused by the codec not being installed on the files after the fist one recorded.

Spoke to my farther in law who is an IBM level archectect and after looking at it found that each of the files work in they are linked together.

Sorry to find this product hasn't lived up to its good reviews as I really liked the camera.

I would happily try this product again if that would be possible as I currently have no head cam at all.

Please contact me if this would be possible

Can someone from Chilli confirm whether the unit can actually record longer than 20 minutes in one go? There appears to be a number of people complaining about this particular feature, but no confirmation as to whether is a feature or a fault.

Thanks.

Media player works on certain codec drives, different ones work different formats. So you need to go to microsoft web page and download the latest codecs. the other option is to get the codecs from the people who make the camera. This isn't a problem with the camera though, you could get 50 cameras the same and they would all do the same thing until you sort out your media player. Hope this helps.
