This review is from: To Catch a Bride (Berkley Sensation) (Mass Market Paperback)
Unwilling to commit to the fiancée his lordly brother has picked out for him, Rafe Ramsey jumps at the chance to escape. A trip to Egypt to recover Alicia Cleeve, the long-lost granddaughter of Lady Cleeve, is the perfect excuse. And if he happens upon some danger along the way, all to the good.
But the girl he finds - having spent the past six years disguised as a homeless Egyptian boy - constantly challenges Rafe's expectations. Yet he knows she's the one he's looking for, even if she does insist on being called Ayisha.
For Ayisha it's incomprehensible that one tall Englishman can demolish her carefully constructed life so swiftly. Yet she always knew he was dangerous - and to her heart most of all.
Roaming between the exotic heat of Egypt, the trials of shipboard life and damp green England, Anne Gracie returns to her Devil Riders series (The Stolen Princess, His Captive Lady) with the story of the calm, charming Rafe Ramsey.
Rafe is a typical Gracie hero - strong, protective, honourable and military - and in keeping with this series, emotionally scarred by his own family. Despite moments of stunning obtuseness, he's a good-hearted, handsome hero who deserves to meet his match. Ayisha is also a typical Gracie heroine - loyal, brave, not to mention high spirited. She's taken her fair share of knocks in life, but continues to care more for others than herself. The pair of them are an explosive combination, providing much heat and amusement along the way. Not to mention support and kindness in the most unlikely moments.
Another delightful story from a talented author, filled with affection, the importance of family and a cast of gorgeous secondary characters - not to mention a beautiful kitten. This is a gorgeous, feel-good book filled with warm romance, even if it feels a little short. You can't go wrong with Anne Gracie.
