Great two player card game quick and easy to learn,
This review is from: Jaipur (Toy)
Bought this via amazon.de as works out cheaper and has all the language instructions included anyway for English French and German. The game itself has no language dependency, so no writing on the cards only numbers.
It's a lovely presented game, consisting of a deck of cards with vibrant images of the various goods. Plus a stack of tokens that are used as currency throughout the game.
Take no notice of the 12y and above age rating this is easy to understand and play from 8 years old. My daughter who is 8 regularly wins at this game. In fact the boardgamegeek website user rating is 8 years also.
It's easily transportable if taking away with you as it's not too big but may be a challenge to play if you don't have a moderate amount of table space.
The gist of the game is you collect goods from the market by exchanging them for other goods or camels. You then sell these goods to the bank. Whoever has the most cash at the end of the game is the round winner. After 3 rounds your the overall winner.
The only minor criticism that can be made against this game is that after each round you have to sort all the tokens out and put them back in highest value order for the next round. This can take more time than you would want it too as you would rather be playing the next round. Don't let this comment put you off though its a very worthwhile buy.
If this is the sort of game you like though its worth checking out Jambo, lost Cities and Archeology card games.
