Confusing and indigestible - sorry,
This review is from: The Evil Seed (Paperback)
I am sorry to say I didn't enjoy this book. I wonder if reading the "Twilight Saga" first had something to do with this, as all the hints as to Rosemary/Ginny's identity seemed rather obvious! However I also think the mystery might have been more enjoyable without the apologetic author's note; it was rather like reading the solution to a crossword before starting it. The word "vampire" is in fact used in a discussion between Daniel and his doctor, so even a reader who doesn't know what clues to look for will find their way.
As other reviewers have put, the start is quite intriguing but the end massively confusing. It was the kind of book I could read only a small chunk of at a time, but found I had lost the thread each time I picked it up.
I liked the setting to start with, and there were sections of quite good suspense. There was enough to encourage me to persevere to the end.
I can only recommend that if you are buying this book for a friend you suggest they hold off reading the author's note until after they finish the book.
