I have this album on cd from way back in the 80s. Over the years those obscenely priced Japanese reissues with a mediocre sound have often tempted me, but always refrained as I knew one day, a proper 2 disc UK version would appear. Well now here it is finally and was damn well worth it ! Thankyou Corinne and Andy for making this happen. 25 years is a while, but listening to IBTT again with all the remixes and b-sides is a breathtaking experience. In recent times many 80s reissues have suffered from careless remastering by being excessively loud or fuzzy and even bad vinyl rips, but certainly not in this case. Both discs sound crystal clear flawless. For all you music buyers out there who love SOS,please go out and actually buy the cds. That way you can really enjoy this splended 25th Anniversay Edition.

Why only give it 4 stars then ?

Maybe for the missing mixes? I love this album to bits, but I'm not sure even I could award 5 stars to a reissue that leaves off a crucial 7"/Single Mix of one of the hits.
These 80s reissues can be a wonderful thing, and some of them do really need a bit of sprucing up, but I put on the original CD recently and it still sounds pristine, warm and pretty much perfect. Or can you improve on perfection?!

Best reissue of the year by far and Eric if it is the 7 inch versions you are looking for i'm quite sure they would have appeared on the couple of compilations they have released.

Thanks, Neil...yes apparently Twilight World is on one of the now-deleted compilations, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that when it's less expensive! I'm quite happy with the original CD...it was always one of the best-sounding albums of the 80s to my ears, fantastic production values. And not having one single duff track helped too!

It's on The Best Of Swing Out Sister from 1996 and there are quite a few different issues of it on here though the cheapest you can buy it for is about £15 but you probably already know this.
