This review is from: Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Whilst I enjoyed this story,I just felt at the end that I wanted more. I mean the characters are feisty, complicated and really engage the reader but, as a spin off to the amazing Lords of the Underworld it struck me as feeling a little "immature" and that it was more an introduction for YA to Gena Showalter. I mean her writing is dark, intense and at times a little explicit leaving the readers a little flushed and heated . The physical side to Anna's and Zach's relationship was lot of teasing and inference and no "nitty gritty" (sorry about the analogy). Maybe it's just me who has had too much exposure to the hot and heavy and is being unfairly critical of what is undoubtedly an excellent read and is going to be another fantastic series. Don't let me put you off though, it would be a shame for you to miss it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. Compared to LOTU it did feel like a YA.

Yes, I'm reading it at the moment and I absolutely love it but..I was disappointed with the actual foreplay scenes (Haven't got to the sex yet!) I know Gina can write a hot sex scene and the sexual tension is scorching in this book so why not give us the sauciness? Kind of frustrating really. If the lead female is talking about how the male was wringing orgasms out of her, I want to know exactly how! LOL! I need the words..
