Serious and very accessible summary of Marxism,

This review is from: Introducing Marx (Paperback)
This is a good starting-point to look at Marxism as the author lays down all the essential philosophical and historical knowledge before attempting orthodox Marxist theory. There is also a very useful section on further reading and a glossary of terms. The diagrams and illustrations bring the topic to life and the only disappointing aspect is that there is maybe a little too much hard print on the Manifesto, which throws the reader off a little, bearing in mind this is supposed to be an introduction. Its also strange to change the format so dramatically. Still, for anyone struggling to understand Marx, this is a great place to start because the author is very articulate and sets out the issues very clearly.
