Big, Robust Punch - effortless punching but the paper guide is a struggle!,

This is quite a chunky-looking monstrosity to have sat on your desk... it's also rather big to keep tucked away in a drawer, if space is an issue. The punch has a footprint of aprx 8.5" by 4.5" and you can reduce the height down from just over 9" down to 4" by pushing down on the handle and locking the position.
Dimensions aside, it really makes light work of punching through a stack of paper with ease. I had my doubts on how hard I'd need to press down but the punch glides through paper quite effortlessly, without much exertion so I am pleasantly surprised. My old punch struggled with 10 sheets, even though it was designed to handle more, so this new one is saving me some time! The paper tray is really easy to operate too - just press down and the tray will flap down so you can dispose of all the punched circles.
The paper guide is another story. It will let you set the paper size to A6, B5, A5, B4, A4, F, B3 and A3 but I have found the guide to be far stiffer than necessary and you really have to push/pull quite hard, while keeping one hand firmly on the other side of the punch. It's too much effort and I feel like one of these days the guide is going to break off in the process!
It's a robust design, clearly built to last. It's quite big for use in my home office but if you have the space for it, it's a good punch to have and I love what light work it makes of punching through lots of sheets at once. The punch is let down by the paper guide, which is quite a struggle to use when trying to change the paper size. Obviously if everything you punch is A4, this won't be an issue for you, but if you frequently need to change the paper size, it's a struggle. This aside, I am pretty happy with the punch in other respects, particularly with how effortless the actual punching is.
