Very good lightweight brad gun, not so good as a staple gun,

This is excellent in use as a lightweight brad gun. It is lightweight so don't expect it to do major jobs. Tacking 12mm ply in place was no problem for this albeit that it left 1 - 2 mm of nail exposed but it held the ply and let me do the job single handed when otherwise I would need one hand to hold a nail, one for a hammer and someone else to hold the ply. The exposed nail heads are a minor irritation but easily fixed with a quick smack with a hammer. This will not finish the job for you but it does reduce it to a one man job.
I also tried this on some 6 x 1 planking. It didn't work but then again I wouldn't really have expected it to. It was wild optimism and a curiosity to see how much it would do that made me try.
As a stapler it is not nearly so good. The staples are left much more exposed than nails and the gun is more prone to jamming. Perhaps not too suprising as it has twice as much work to do. The exposed staples are harder to bed down properly as staples to fit this are likely to bend if you take a hammer to them. So for staples it might be quick but it's really only useful for the lightest of jobs.
The inclusion of nail and staple selection packs is nice as it makes it complete. It is shipped in a bare cardboard box and a case to hold this would be nice and is a standard part of other nail guns in the same range.
