This review is from: Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)I'm sure people who read reviews on here more than anything want an average gamers comments rather than a professionally written review, that is what I shall attempt.
I have only had the game for a few hours but have completed it 3 times (on easy). Prior to purchasing the game I worried that I wouldnt be able to do any of the moves and end up not playing much at all (like street fighter IV), however I decided to take the chance and figured I could always play on "simple" mode if I am unable to perform any combos or moves. I'm glad I took that that chance because it seems to be a very fun and crazy fighter the graphics are very colourfull and there is so much happening on the screen at any given time that you understand why they put epilepsy seizure warnings on video games. I played the game in "normal" rather than "simple" mode and had no issues of been unable to fight, I was pleasently surprised as I had victories consistantly with no annoyances.
The game modes are a little lacking in terms of story and substance, but this is a fighting game and I dont believe anybody buys fighters for the story or deep and varied arcade mode. Completion of arcade mode probably takes 10 to 15 minutes and on "easy" difficulty I was never beaten until I met the allmighty GALACTUS!! a huge planet eating man, and the Sentinal a large angry robot you may know of them from X-men. The characters are varied and original and all have stunning moments, they are quite balanced but varied and different, with some seeming a little over powered but that adds to the game and gives it challenge rather than takes away.
There are a few other modes "mission mode" "training" but thats really about it, the mission mode got me stuck because I couldnt perform a move even though I thought I was doing correctly what was displayed. There are 4 characters to unlock which you get just by completing the "arcade" mode and collecting your points Exp at the end of each fight. there are character bios and models to unlock and review if you so wish.
Online I only had a quick go and was destoryed by my opponent who really like to perform "ariel combos" and had much better timing than I do at the moment. I was playing Ranked which is probably why some people will spam with some moves. It took a little while to find a game but when I did there didn't seem to be any noticable lag.
In summary I think its a solid game which is visually very nice and its pacing is great.
