Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
What a simply spiffing book! With its beautiful cover, 'Mrs Simkins' makes an attractive addition to anyone's bookshelf. As quintessentially English as tea itself, this book opens with some rather dry tea-time history before moving onto the real meat and potatoes, so to speak - the recipes. Others have mentioned the lack of pictures, but I rather like the simplistic b&w look of the text, and my sizeable belly can vouch for the quality of the recipes themselves...
A fantastic gift for a foodie friend, or a tea-time treat for yourself. Anyone for cucumber sandwiches?
