This review is from: A Dip in the Ocean: Rowing Solo Across the Indian (Paperback)
If you haven't already heard of Sarah Outen and her incredible journey across the Indian Ocean, this book goes a long way to describing, often in minute detail, what it was like to be alone in a tiny boat in the middle of an unimaginably vast sea.
Sarah draws us in to her story, from the moment she first conceived the idea to attempt her awesome ocean row, to the minute she hit (literally) her destination in Mauritius - and beyond.
Each chapter of Sarah's story draws you on to the next - she makes you feel as if you were in the boat with her, and allows her reader access to her most inner thoughts, fears and raw emotions. It is brilliantly written, and wonderfully paced throughout. I laughed, cried and gasped at what I read, even though I knew much of Sarah's adventure already.
Bring on the next book Sarah!
