This review is from: Sony PlayStation Console (Video Game)
Look at that. In the year 1995 and 2000, this was a sight to behold. It looks like a dominant console in comparison to others like the Dreamcast and the Nintendo 64 - grey; meaning neutral. It sat idly by while Sega and Nintendo duked it out one last time for the title of the top, but they failed to realize Sony was miles ahead in both gameplay and its features.

The Playstation Console may not look like much after nearly 2 decades, but when it was released it was something you had to own. And it was convinient too. The console is very small, and one would find it hard to imagine that the later PS1 (The PS One) could be small enough to be a hand held! With its clear buttons, cord outlets and inputs, players will know how to set this up in no time and be able to find out where there's a problem. Should there be one.

The Playstation has some of the best utilities around, able to create gorgeous environments and character models, suckerpunch its enemies with the power of clear as day voice acting and instrumental sound, and have more fluent control than anyone at the time could possibly imagine. To have a Playstation was to have a dream come true - it was everything you needed for a console. No motion control, no internet connection, no music players, no DVD players.

It's a video game console. Nothing more, nothing less. And unfortunately, the last of the non-hybrid consoles.

I believe that was the next model, the small white one, the PSOne. Though that was a great feature and one of the first "dashboards" in video gaming.
