Crash and Burn Baby,
This review is from: Phantom Crash (Video Game)
I have to be honest I have been completely sucked in by all th erave reviews of this game. Yes I like Mech games, yes I like minimum rules and maximum carnage but NO! I don't like screens and screens on anime sequences.
Overall this game is fairly well finished. Good but not great graphics, compared to mechassault. Good spin by having the career mode which compares favourably to the Gran Turismo legacy. It was the career mode option that interested me the most before buying. I have to say there are fantastic options and that the repair and replace requirements added extra realism to the whole thing.
The arena's are fairly well laid out, I managed to find a few good vantage spots for serious fragging. The scoobees are well detailed and I liked the customised options for them and the other competitiors seems fairly intelligent during battle. Some of the scoobees looked a little bit weird though not really very mean looking but I guess that wouldn't have suited the game anyway.
All in all I enjoyed the game, when I was playing, didn't enjoy all the anime sequences they are unnecessary and particularly annoying between games.
Overall I would reccomend this game if you like mech games and can put up with the sequences. Mech assault had a story line albeit a little thin but if I had to choose to part with money for either of these games I'd choose mech assault next time.
Sorry Scoobee's but your anime sequences just didn't do it for me.
