Mixed: Great and Bland,
This review is from: Hebrides - Islands on the Edge [DVD] (DVD)
Starting with the wonder and majesty of the islands, the photographers and crew take on their craft with a healthy dose of excellence. The writing, however, seemed not to benefit from a wealth of research and information; beginning the narration of each matter by commenting on the obvious, then, perhaps in an effort to rise above its blandness in a way that might just (or not) create interest for young children, inject a bit too much wordy false peril to accompany moments of genuine drama. Between the imaging artistry and childish script came the directing to hold the middle ground. Very worthy subject not served as well as could be.
