Does what it says. Really does grip the ice and stops you falling. Used over the last few weeks and felt safer when out walking. My only negative comment is that you need to be pretty strong to pull them onto the shoe. Not sure how easiely someone would be able to fit them over the footwear if they were a frail or weak. Still a very good product.

I agree about the strength required to put these on your shoes - I bought some from QVC a year or two ago and had to send them back because slight arthritis in my fingers meant I could not apply them :(

I found too my arthiticky fingers wouldn't stretch these Aids over shoes I was wearing, so took my shoes off and bent them then the Traction Aids stretched round. Putting my feet back in put the shoes put them back to normal. The rubber may of course ease up a bit with use, but they need to be fairly tight to grip your footwear I would have thought.

I have arthritis in my fingers too, but I had no trouble at all getting these on, even over my boots - my problem was bending my knees enough to get at my feet! I wonder if you had a different version? Mine has very elastic straps which stretch easily but contract to fit closely.
