Nice coffee, shame about the waste...,
This review is from: Carte Noire Espresso No 5 Delicat 10 Coffee Capsules 53 g (Pack of 8) (Grocery)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Starting with possibly the most important thing first, these give a good flavour. I don't drink espresso, so use two of these and a little milk to make a large cup/small mug - approx 200ml. The no. 5s are in the middle in terms of strength, perhaps edging towards the milder end. The box tells me they are 'silky' with a 'fruity note' - agreed on the first, can't say I've noticed the second. Pure Arabica, the box also says.
The pods fit my lovely Nespresso Citiz perfectly, so full points on that score. Pricewise, they're about 20-25% cheaper than Nespresso's own (at the price showing today). In my opinion, and I'm not a connoisseur at all, these aren't quite as good a flavour, but honestly the difference is minimal. However Nespresso sell in much smaller quantities per flavour, so it's easier to have a wide range of flavours on hand rather than a bulk order of just one.
The big downside of these - and it's pretty huge - is the massive amount of excessive and unnecessary packaging they come in. First there's the usual oversized Amazon box stuffed full of paper, then inside that a cardboard sleeve with an extra base and lid surrounding 8 individual cardboard boxes, each containing ten pods - and each of the pods is then sealed in its own individual little plastic bag. Ridiculous waste and they also take up huge amounts of storage space unless you remove them from all the packaging as soon as they arrive. The pods won't even fit in a pod holder until the plastic bags have been removed from each one. By my reckoning I can fit about two hundred of the Nespresso pods, in their packaging, into the same space as roughly 20-30 of these pods, even with all bar the final small boxes removed. Finally, Nespresso run a scheme to uplift and recycle their pods - these Carte Noire pods go straight to landfill.
So for taste, price and fit, I'd be giving four stars, but since I'd never buy these because of the sheer amount of casual waste, then overall I'm giving them a generous 3.

Interested to hear they work fine in your Citiz - I have noticed that in my version the Citiz cannot punch holes in the rear of about 50% of capsules hence have had to stop using them
