Absolutely loved my Kindle while it worked, but Im not going to buy a new one every 18 months(screen problem). Complained to customer services and was offered a second hand one with a tenner off via an automatic reply (guess they get a lot of complaints about the same thing). Would probably buy another one when they can be made to last a reasonable amount of time. Until then..

Update - Amazon offered me a free replacement shortly after posting this. It obviously pays off to moan if you know you are in the right

I have a screen problem with my Kindle which is 9 months old, I cannot read the books on it as only half a page has text if I'm lucky. Still under warranty but store I purchased my kindle from refuses to replace or repair claiming I must have knocked it when I know full well that I haven't and that it has always had a protective cove and been well protected in my handbag when out with me. Very disappointed with the store and that the kindle seems to have given up so quick. Do I bother to buy a new one or not?

Get in contact with amazon customer services (they are very nice). At 9 months old they should replace it, regardless of where you bought it from.
