Stunning and accessible.,
This review is from: On The Menu (Hardcover)
On The Menu arrived swiftly, and I could not be more impressed by the sheer quality of this book. A lovely matte black cover, thick pages and the most stunning photography makes this book a stunner.
Looking at the beautiful pictures, I wondered if I'd be able to recreate the dishes - surely you needed loads of expensive ingredients? But no, most of them are in my cupboard. There a couple of items, like truffles here and there, and James gives recommendations for substitutes.
His comments are great too, and he's not overbearing or patronising. His love of cooking, fresh local ingredients, his family and restaurant shine trough on every page.
Worth every penny and I can't wait to get started.
