The television event of 2013!,
This review is from: Broadchurch [DVD] (DVD)
Broadchurch was one of the best television dramas produced in Britain for a very long time
The mystery surrounding the death of Danny Latimer was absolutely gripping, with a series of suspects each coming into the frame at different times. The multi-layered and intelligent story will not fail to have not guessing and guessing again.
From it's dramatic opening to it's devastating conclusion Broadchurch will stun and amaze you.

Natascha K. Edwards says:
Unfortunately I have been told who the killer, is it still worth watching with the knowledge of who the killer is ??

While Broadchurch is also a whodunnit, it's also about a community collapsing, about irresponsible media coverage, about family, about trust, about a beautiful landscape. It's worth watching for some performances alone (especially David Bradley, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan), even David Tennant is really different than usual and good. Most people guessed the killer anyway early because of the usual crime drama patterns, but the stories alongside the suspects are also interesting. And some expectations are turned upside down along the way of the drama.
Don't expect a fast-paced, gory thriller, but a character-driven drama. If you know the people the solution is shocking, the reaction of the people you learnt to know is even more important.
No blood, no guts, not much "action", some red herrings, some very good acting, few unexpected dry witty oneliners...
I liked it but I see that tastes are different.
