Developer's will learn from this...,
This review is from: Dark Souls (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I've played many RPG's in my time ranging from the surreal, the dark, the happy go lucky, and the downright brutal. Let me tell you that Dark Souls is certainly one of the best and most refreshing titles to grace the shop shelves in a long while.
If you're looking for a walk in the park picking daisies, please move on, Dark Souls will punish you and push you to the limits of your skill. Many are saying that it's one of the hardest game's out there, let me comfort you now and say it's not... These people are looking at the game in the wrong way, instead of raging and chewing on your controller after getting stabbed in the back by that enemy for the first time; look, observe and learn from your mistakes, do that and you'll stroll through most of the areas as you feel like a total badass. This is what the developers wanted, to create a game where the players themselves should put it to themselves to accomplish a task, in other words, they were sick of the grinding and monotony of most other rpg's as you flicked enemies on the nose and waltzed over the tops of their heads...
The Gameplay itself is a wonder to behold, the gameplay mechanics and features feel so fluid and dynamic, the seemless actions of all the weapons and moves you make really give you a sense of how much passion and soul has gone into this game, the best thing I think really is that...Just...Everything feels like it works, it's in the right place everytime and should warrant more praise than it's been receiving.
If you're still anxious about buying it, take it from me, you won't regret it! As long as you commit to the game it will treat you well.
10/10! Developers should take note of what this game has managed to achieve...

It truly is, and definitely worth more, but if this entices more people to buy it. Well. That's just fantastic.

Fanboy nonsense. 10/10 for outdated graphics? Gameplay that has horrible hit detection, no dedicated servers and no balance in the weapons armour or magic? How is that even a base for a multiplayer game? Go through the book of the guilty, every third person has maxed out stats due to modding their save files so it's full of cheaters to add to the mess. The storyline is very much a mess also, just a typical JRPG take on English lore with added obscenities like spiders with tits. None of the bosses are worth fighting until you reach the DLC as theyre all easy to beat once you find out the "evade the one hit kill to find a weakspot" strategy that ensues for every boss. To add to the terrible lack of variation and creativity in bosses the Asylum demon is fought 3 times with slightly different powers, the bed of chaos can hardly even be called a boss the developers even apologised for the cheapness of it. They should apologise for the rest of the game as the DLC is the only bit worth playing at all, the end boss Gwyn is just a lesson in parrying.
Someone really needs to point out how overrated this game is, but it seems like everyone who plays it and managed a partial victory of 58 to the demon 1 to the dark soul feels like they've become a hardcore gamer. I say, play ninja gaiden before playing this because you'll see exactly what real gamers mean when you compare "cheap" with "hard".

Are you... Are you serious? I don't even know where to start with this, so I'll just say that this was a complete waste of my time reading, thinly bolstered arguments, and just a general hate driven attack on a modern game which has managed to really hold it's own and, god forbid, be successful in doing so. I'm going to keep this short as I'm clearly not going to sway you and I don't want to waste my time doing so, I mean christ! This was a year ago! So I'll just leave you with this, your point about the lore and story being weak and 'messy' *sigh* it's just laughably false, and so the next time you try to make sense of a game. Please. Do your research instead of jumping to the keyboard.
I'm tired now. Goodnight.
*edit* Judging by your review of dishonoured, I reckon you're just trying to be another childish imitation hatemonger. Please stop.

So, erm, I know it's a year and half later, but just wondering whether to buy this game? It's only £6.90 and might be a good way for me to fill an otherwise quiet Christmas day..
