Something different - light but enjoyable,
This review is from: A Good and Useful Hurt (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. It really isn't comparable to any other stuff I've read. It's a mongrel (in a good sense) of a love story cum thriller cum fantasy and based in the way out world of tattoos and piercings.
It is an easy read and could be classed as 'young adult' but Aric approaches the themes of loss with great sensitivity. I fully believed in all the characters and was drawn into their world wanting to know what happened next. I might even get a tattoo myself (I just need to find some ashes of dead loved ones. I'm sure I've a whole stash in the attic somewhere...).
Aric - hurry up and write another novel soon and keep it based in the world of tattoo parlor customers - a world you inhabit and know so well.
